Astrid (Azzy) Blair
Astrid is a black, short-haired kitty with yellow eyes. She was born in the Appalachian wilderness and fought hard to survive in the forest until one night, she ran up a tree over 70 feet tall to escape a predator. In the chaos, she injured her eye, and because she was in the tree for three days without medical care, it healed strangely. Her eye is completely healed now, she can see out of it, and it doesn’t bother her at all! We know it looks weird, but she’s just fine. <3
Today, Astrid is a little shy, but she warms up to treats and toys. Astrid’s best friend is Moonlight, and they play together often. She may not always like to be pet or brushed, but sometimes she’ll let you if she’s feeling up to it. She seems a little skittish, but she’s very sweet! Astrid loves to stalk and chase the fishing pole toys, she can be very playful.

- Medium-low affectionate, a little skittish, but won't swat you
- Petting heavily depends on her mood; can be shy; not a snuggler
- Medium energy, will play but also likes to lounge
- Usually not big on grooming unless it's Morgan (the owner)
- Children can be a little much but she comes around to calm ones
Patchy Flynn
Patchy is a fluffy diluted orange and white tabby with long fur and green eyes. We took Patchy from a gentleman selling something to us on Facebook Marketplace, where we got him at 4 weeks old for free. What a steal! We named him “Patchy” because he’s missing part of his back leg and it reminds us of a peg leg (“Patchy” being the name of the pirate from Sponge-Bob.)
Patchy is affectionate, clingy, and loves attention. He’s a huge fan of being brushed and will eagerly rush over if he sees the brush basket. Patchy purrs very loudly. He’s a happy guy! He’s also very permissive and will let you do pretty much anything to him… Touch his paws, his toe beans, his belly, he really doesn’t mind. In fact, I think he’s just happy to be included.

- Highly affectionate and tolerant
- Loves attention and does sometimes snuggle
- Medium energy, will play but also likes to lounge
- Loves being brushed
- Tolerant of children
Indy Rae
Indy is a short-haired tortoise shell colored cat with yellow eyes. She has a floppy sort of tail that flops over itself slightly when she puts it up in the air. When she wants attention, she makes lots of little meows in quick succession like Morse code. She’s the boss of the kitty lounge and makes sure all the other kitties know!
Indy is very tolerant and affectionate; she doesn’t mind where you’re petting her as long as she’s getting attention. If she’s decided she wants you to pay attention to her, she follows you around and meows. Sometimes she’ll even want to curl up on your lap! If you put your jacket down, it’s Indy’s now. Sorry, them’s the rules. She’s nice to most of the cats in the lounge, but she sometimes ends up picking on Thistle, perhaps thinking she’s a weak link in the group. She likes to snuggle with Princess and rough-house with Moonlight.

- Highly affectionate and tolerant
- Loves attention and does sometimes snuggle
- Medium energy, will play but also likes to lounge
- Not a big brush fan, you'll get on her nerves
- Tolerant of Children
Petunia Grace
Petunia is a short-haired white cat with grey spots and green eyes. She is the second-oldest cat at the cafe before Princess and has a little sister named Magnolia. Petunia and Magnolia get mixed up often, but you can tell them apart because Petunia is more round, has fewer grey spots, and has a grey spot under her nose that looks like a mustache. She and her sister used to be extremely skittish, territorial, and shy when they first moved to the cafe, but now Petunia is one of the sweetest, most laid-back kitties in the whole lounge.
You may see Petunia cozied up somewhere high up and assume she is still shy, but she is actually very affectionate and would probably love to come see you if you get her attention! If she doesn’t, she might just be tired and peopled out, but she’ll probably still slow blink lovingly at you. When she really wants your attention, she puts her front paws on you and might even meow.

- Highly affectionate and mostly toleran
- Loves attention but doesn't snuggle
- Low energy, just wants to sleep, hang out, and make biscuits
- Not usually into brushes but sometimes she likes it
- Not the biggest fan of kids but may come around to quiet ones
Thistle Marie
Thistle is a fluffy, long-haired white cat with grey spots and green eyes. We think, based on her temperament, fur texture, and facial structure, she could be at least partly a rag doll. She was about 6 weeks old when we got her with the rest of her brothers and sisters. When we fostered her and her siblings for a while, we decided to keep Thistle so that Patchy had someone to play with, and they’ve been very close since they were kittens!
Thistle can be a little stand-offish and picky about who she wants attention from, but once you are Thistle Approved, she might even crawl into your lap demanding attention. She typically keeps to herself, lounging in cozy places around the cat room, but is especially fond of feather toys. Sometimes when she sits, she dangles her legs in a funny way, and I’ve taken to calling them “Thistle Legs.”

- Peaceful and tolerant but can be shy
- Loves attention and snuggling but can be picky about who and when
- Low energy, but might get up to play with a feather toy
- Likes getting brushed most of the time
- Loud children might spook her but she's sweet
Moonlight Adrian
Moonlight is an energetic black, fluffy, long-haired black cat with a few small white spots across his body and some grey and white fur on his belly and tail. He has green eyes. We think he may be part Maine Coon based on his temperament, build, facial structure, and winter coat texture. Moonlight was about 4 months old when we adopted him from Marion County Humane Society. He is very high-strung and troublesome, but we love him!
This silly kitty has an affinity for trouble. He loves chasing other cats, rough-housing with Indy, Patchy, and Astrid, and knocking people’s drinks over to try to lap up what spills. Every time I see someone come out to get paper towels, I ask, “Was it a black, fluffy one?” Despite his orneriness, Moonlight really is a sweet boy, and he loves to play, especially with spunky kids.

- Gets overstimulated somewhat easily, don't touch him when he's wired, but he can be sweet
- Likes scratches behind the ears and under his chin
- Very high energy
- Don't brush him he's so overdramatic
- Loves kids, loves playing with them, but may swat either out of playfulness or overstimulation
Molly Darling
Molly is a lanky tabby cat with short fur, a white underside, and green eyes. We think she may be part Oriental based on her facial structure, build, temperament, and meow. Molly was a foster fail from the Marion County Humane Society, and while she seemed to do very well at the cafe for a few months, she started getting bullied by the other cats and became petrified of the place. After doing everything we could to try to get her comfortable again, to no avail, we decided to just keep her at our house.
Molly is extremely talkative, she thinks she runs the house, and she likes to play with our other two house cats, Jake and BMO. Molly loves to play fetch with springs and sometimes I wake up with springs in the bed because she brought them in wanting me to play with her. I know Molly doesn’t live at the cafe anymore, but she was so adored, I promised my customers I would keep them updated!

- Very tolerant, affectionate, and mellow
- You can pretty much touch her anywhere
- Medium energy, likes to play but also likes to lounge
- Tolerates brushing for a bit, but gets tired of it
- Always very patient with children
